Welcome to the 10th annual 2017 Claremont Sunrise Rotary - Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and 1K Kid’s Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning. This event has gained the reputation for being a scenic and ideal route through the Claremont Colleges and Village, with a downhill grade on the last leg. Serious runners and families alike enjoy this event. Make it your “Family Holiday Tradition”.
We are so excited that people from all over come to run in this race. Our runners come from Claremont, surrounding cities, other states and other countries. We also have to thank our sponsors who have been so great throughout the years. Please go to our sponsor section and support our sponsors. They are truly great. We also need to thank all of our volunteers as we could not do the race without them.
The proceeds from the race go directly to change lives our local community and internationally. Please go to the About Us section and learn more about the great things we do at Claremont Sunrise Rotary. Our slogan is “Rise Up and Change Lives” and that is exactly what we do. You are part of changing lives when you support this race as a runner, sponsor or volunteer.
In 2015 we had around 2,000 runners and expect around 2,500 this year! This has become a Holiday tradition for many families and individuals to get their Thanksgiving Day started with a wonderful energy.
For the 5K, timing is by a chip in your racing bib, so it doesn't matter where you are in the pack at the start of the race - your time is from the moment you cross the starting line until you cross the finish line. Each registered runner in the 1K Fun Run (which is not timed) receives a Medal of Accomplishment.
For the 5K Run/Walk there are awards for best overall times, male and female, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place divided by male/female by age groups. See the Awards section for more information.
Thank you for supporting and being part of this great event that changes lives!
